Christmas events in DaventryOur Christmas lights have past their ‘best before date’ and the Town Council are striving to create a new and vibrant scheme for 2009/10.

Museum

Daventry MuseumThe Town Council sponsors the Museum, and along with a handful of dedicated volunteers, Daventry’s history is kept alive through a variety of exhibitions, open days and events.

It is open on the first Saturday of every month from 10am until 1pm (in front of the Library).

 Allotments

Daventry allotmentsWith rising food prices, environmental concerns and the trend to ‘grown your own produce’ demand for allotments is consistently high.

The Town Council are thrilled to report that the dispute relating to land at Drayton has finally been resolved in favour of the Town Council.

 Hanging Baskets

Hanging baskets in DaventryThis year the hanging baskets proved to be a huge success, adding a vibrant splash of colour throughout the town and lifting the spirits of both residents and visitors over what seemed to be a very wet and dreary summer.

 Remembrance Day Parade and War Memorial

Poppy for Remembrance Sunday

Daventry Town Council is honoured to maintain this important monument, located on Abbey Street, near Vicar Lane.

Representatives from many groups across the town join the Remembrance Day Parade to pay tribute and honour those who have died in wars past and present.

 

 Community Grants

Awards of between £100 and £1000 are available to support projects that benefit our community.

'Dial-a-Ride' Service

DACTThe DACT Dial-a-Ride Service sponsored by Daventry Town Council provides a totally free service twice a week, for anyone aged 65 and above, into the Town Centre for shopping.
