War Memorial history
The War Memorial in Daventry was erected in memory of the 114 men, of the Borough, who gave their lives in the Great War. The unveiling and dedication took place on Sunday 9th April 1922.
Daventry Town Council now has the honour of maintaining the War Memorial and organising the Remembrance Sunday Parade on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
The people of Daventry, without fail, join in the Remembrance Day Parade and it is a pleasure to see that the young as well as the old attend this event to honour the brave men and women who have served and still serve our country.

Ted Sharp shares his memories ...
"Looking back over the years I remember how my father, who was injured during the First World War, always took me with him on his special day – Remembrance Sunday. I can still see where we stood and all the ex-servicemen that attended. There were lots of them in those days, all had memories."
