Daventry Town Council's second lantern making workshop was another success. Held on Saturday 21st November in the main hall of Daventry's Community Centre and people's creativity, once again, shone through including our own Daventry Mayor, Cllr Wendy Randall and Cllr Ron Fox who both came along to help out and make their own unique lanterns.

Daventry Town Council's first lantern making workshop was a roaring success. It was held on Saturday 14th November in the Dolphin Suite of Phoenix Youth Centre. The creativity was amazing, who would think that from stems of willow and tissue paper you could create such diverse structures. Creations ranged from stars, to flowers to festive Christmas trees, angels and snowmen. The more elaborate structures included a butterfly, hot air balloon and R2-D2 from Star Wars.. Read More »

This Saturday, more than 12,000 people attended Daventry Town Council's annual firework display, that's a whopping 3000 more than last year. It was fantastic to see so many different generations enjoying the event, singing along to the music and giving an excellent rendition of "Let it Go" from Frozen. Thank you to everyone who came and joined in the fun.

Daventry Museum is open this Saturday 7th November from 10am to 4pm to remember the fallen in the commemorative exhibition "Memories of World War Two".
Along with special exhibits by Roger Money and Gerry Thompson, visitors will be able to listen and sing along to wartime songs played on the Museum's Piano and view the thought provoking displays.

Last week Daventry Town Council and Daventry Twinning Association are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Twinning partnership 'Building a bridge of International Understanding' between Daventry and Westerburg in Germany.
The relationship between the two towns started in 1983 when three delegates from Daventry visited Westerburg and held discussions with the Burgermeister (Mayor of Westerburg). The partnership was made.. Read More »

On Sunday 8 November, Daventry Service of Remembrance will be held at the War Memorial off Abbey Street, followed by a church service at Holy Cross Church
The service will commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women involved in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
