Daventry Retailers To Stay Open for the Lantern Parade

Many of the shops in Sheaf Street along with some of your favourite café's and restaurants are joining in the festivities and staying open for the Lantern Parade on Friday 4th December 2015.

In Sheaf Street Maria's Kitchen and the Hideout will be offering Mulled Wine, Roso Cafe Bar have special offers on Pork and Stuffing Rolls and Berryburst will have home made soup and jacket potatoes.

All Things Cakey (4Prince William Walk, off Sheaf Street) is hosting an open day from 12pm-8pm. Guests can enjoy special demos and enjoy complimentary drinks and nibbles! There will also be a chance to pick up some Christmas gifts at special offer prices.

In Bowen Square Kuni's Coffee & Comic and Costa Coffee are staying open providing a perfect vantage point to watch the parade.

From 4pm activities and entertainment, for young children, will be centred in Sheaf Street, to include a Santa's Grotto, face-painting, and the opportunity for young children to learn circus skills.

Come along and meet Sheridon the Sheepdog and Murray the Mini-Monster, and maybe get a balloon model from our Festive Stilt-Walker.

All these activities will be free of charge.

From 6:00pm join in the fun, as people gather outside Daventry Library, ready to count down and start up the band for the Christmas Lantern Parade leaving at 6:30pm

The evening ends with Christmas music and carols, in Sheaf Street, performed by Daventry Choral Society, the Deco pantomime characters and Daventry Brass.

It's not just for the young, Daventry shopkeepers are extending their opening hours and joining in the festivities, offering mulled wine, mince pies and other festive delights.
