Daventry Town Council Get Walking to Help County Reach 20 Million Steps Target

Daventry Town Council will be stepping up to the challenge of walking 20 million steps on Sunday 25 September and wants you to join in! Bring along your children, dogs and all of the family for a led walk around the Town Centre and Daventry Country Park.

Northamptonshire County Council is challenging as many people as possible to go for a walk during the 20 Million Steps weekend (23rd to 25th September) with aim of collectively walking 20 million steps in one weekend.

Figures show that 67.5% of adults in Northamptonshire are classed as overweight or obese and so the county council is aiming to tackle this issue by encouraging more people to get active.

Daventry Town Council are hosting a led walk which will take place on Sunday 25 September. The walk will start at 12pm at the Library, in the Town Centre, through Daventry Country Park and finishing back in the Town Centre. The walk will amount to approx. 10,000 steps per person with each individual step count adding to the county total.

To book your place on the led walk please contact Daventry Town Council on 01327 301246 or email admin@daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk.
