DACT

DACT is celebrating over 15 years of providing transport to the community in Daventry district. The services provide transport opportunities for thousands of people across the district who would otherwise struggle to get to their destination.
There are now 186 community groups who benefit from the DACT Minibuses, which take groups to many different destinations. Some people are not aware that as well as the elderly groups which represent approximately 70% of the trips, there is a healthy membership of youth & children’s organisations who also benefit. As well as single day trips, many youth groups were able to go on week-long camps and youth events this year, some of which were subsidised by the Money4Youth grants. For more information of availability of trip subsidies, please contact the DACT Office (see contact details below).
The DACT Volunteer Car Scheme continues to provide a much-needed service to those who need to get to their medical appointments. If you struggle to use public transport or if there is no public transport where you live, just pick up the phone and call the DACT Office to receive a helpful, friendly service. This year we will have undertaken in the region of 14,000 passenger journeys to get people to their appointments! A valued customer wrote recently, “My late husband and I have used DACT for the past 11 years and don’t know how we would have managed without you”. This is typical of many commendations we regularly receive and which always expresses such high praise of the volunteer drivers who give up their time to serve the local community. Our 160 volunteers contributed over 30,000 of volunteer hours in the last year to support this community.
