Commemorating The Battle of Naseby: 375 years. Daventry's part in the Conflict.

Sat, 07 Mar 2020 10:00

Exhibition at Daventry Museum open from 10am to 4pm.

Daventry Museum is working in collaboration with the Naseby Battlefield Project on this exciting new exhibition, in the run up to the 375th Anniversary of the Battle of Naseby in June 2020.

This exhibition will include many items not before displayed publicly from private lenders along with loans from Newarke Civil War Museum and Harborough Museum. Displays will include painting of soldiers, the battle site, original armour, weaponary and canon balls. Highlights will be Fairfax's campaign cup and water bottle, given to him by Cromwell and the Kings Cabinet Tract.

On open Saturdays our visitors can enjoy a few surprises from local reenactors, sounds and sights of the battle and perhaps even a book signing.

Please note that the museum will be closed from 8th December 2019 to 10th January 2020 to install the new Battle of Naseby exhibition and will resume normal opening hours on Saturday 11th January 2020.
