Daventry's Community Coming Together for the Lantern Parade

Daventry Town Council's second lantern making workshop was another success. Held on Saturday 21st November in the main hall of Daventry's Community Centre and people's creativity, once again, shone through including our own Daventry Mayor, Cllr Wendy Randall and Cllr Ron Fox who both came along to help out and make their own unique lanterns.

The Mayor commented "It was a fantastic morning and so good to really involve the community in this way." As well as running the two free workshops Daventry Town Council has also provided free materials for 250 children from various youth organisations enabling them to make their own lanterns to take part in the parade.

Due to works being carried out by Northamptonshire County Council on lighting in Daventry Town Centre, the Christmas lights will be installed and operational in time for The Christmas Lantern Parade' on 4th December 2015.
