Litter Picking Heroes

Daventry Town Council would like to thank everyone who was involved in the three 'Clean for the Queen' event's that took place on the Headlands, Grange and Southbrook Estates this weekend.

Daventry Town Councillors, along with local residents were out in force on the Southbrook Estate and Community Leader Sharon Moore was thrilled at how the community joined in and cleared 30 bags of rubbish. 'There are so many positives to take from the event, most importantly the community getting together and putting pride back into the place where they live'.

Daventry Town Mayor, Councillor Wendy Randall, attended all three events, picking litter and spraying dog poo. She ended her very busy day on the Grange, with Cllr Ron Fox, numerous residents and children picking the litter and even clearing away leaves. Cllr Randall applauded the work of community leaders Sharon Moore and Jacqui Ward for all their hard work in organising their events and added how proud she was of the local community who came together to show they care about where they live.

Daventry Town Council would also like to thank Daventry District Council (DDC) and its environmental services contractor Enterprise Managed Services (EMS), Daventry & District Housing, Bedford Pilgrams Housing Association and Bromford Housing Association for their support and contributions to the 'Clean Up'.

If you would like to be involved in the future plans to tidy-up the Southbrook Estate, please contact Sharon Moore Details will also be available via the Southbrook Facebook page "Southbrook Estate".
