We Need Your Help

To celebrate and support the Aviva Women's Tour cycling through Daventry for the first time on Sunday 19th June we are appealing to local residents to donate any old unwanted bikes.

The donated bikes will then be distributed to local participating schools to be painted pink and decorated in their own unique style which will then be positioned around Daventry Town Centre to welcome top class cyclists competing in the final stage of the Aviva women's tour on Sunday the 19th June 2016. It's hoped that hundreds of people will line London Road and New Street in Daventry to cheer the riders on as the race comes to the town centre for the first time.

So help us put Daventry on the map and please check their sheds/outhouses/garages and donate any old unwanted bikes to help ensure the success of a community project.

Any residents wishing to donate a bicycle please call Daventry Town Council on 01327 301246 or via email administrator@daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk.

Any Schools who wish to participate please contact David Hanson at david.hanson@firstforwellbeing.co.uk or Will Heckford at Northamptonshire Sport on will.heckford@firstforwellbeing.co.uk or 01604 366122 by Monday 9th May.

NB Bikes will need to be completed and ready for
collection by 13th June to be included in the competition

The Town Council are pleased to be working with Danetre Rotary Club, Leisure Lakes Bikes, Daventry Cycling Club and Northamptonshire Sport on the pink bike project for Daventry. Further details of the event will be announced on our website shortly.
