“Daventry Weekender” – 29 bands set to Open Daventry Arts Festival 2017

This year's Arts Festival is set to rock as Daventry Town Council's (DTC) shout out to the creative community has resulted in a fabulous fortnight of events, opening on Saturday June 17th with the "Daventry Weekender".

29 bands/artists descend on Daventry town centre to perform original live music in five music spaces including the Community stage at the top of Sheaf Street, acoustic spaces in The Sheaf Street Health Store and Early Doors Micropub, and full band spaces in The Saracens Head Inn and The Dun Cow in Brook Street.

The Weekender is the brainchild of local resident Paul Knowles, CEO of International Music Community (IMC), a company whose software enables music festivals and conferences to build bespoke networking solutions for the benefit of their attending delegates and showcasing artists.

Paul remarks, "Daventry has over 27,000 residents with an infrastructure to grow and sustain a strong live music scene for many years to come. The aim of the Daventry Weekender is to act as a catalyst for local residents and businesses to embrace live music as an integral part of the town's fabric on an ongoing basis. With the help and expertise of local music promoters and venues, IMC will help spearhead an online community of local fans and musicians which will become a hub for anything music-related within the district. Our ultimate aim is for the Weekender to become

Daventry's flagship music festival. This year's line-up features some truly gifted emerging artists and we welcome them to Daventry with open arms."

More events will be announced over the forthcoming week for this year's festival and if the "Daventry Weekender" has inspired you, it's not too late to contact DTC and become a part of this year's festival.
