Daventry Area Community Transport (DACT) Receive The Top Award

Daventry Town Council are very proud to announce that The DACT (Daventry Area Community Transport) team has been awarded the accolade of The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, which is the MBE for the voluntary sector.

DACT were nominated for the award last year by Cllr Glenda Simmonds (Mayor of Daventry Town Council) Chris Long (Ex-Chairman of Daventry District) and Chris Millar (Leader of Daventry District Council) and after a visit and a lot of scrutiny by the Queen's representative DACT received notification that they were to be awarded this top award.

Daventry Town Council are especially proud as we work with DACT to provide the towns Dial a Ride scheme which is a FREE shopping bus service every Tuesday and Friday into town, but everyone involved in delivering DACT Services can consider themselves the recipient of this award. This is the MBE for a Voluntary Group and all who put in such a massive effort to make DACT services run so well have been given this honour. Take a bow everyone, you all deserve this massive thank you from the Queen. This award is also testament to all the previous DACT Volunteers & Staff who have given their time to get DACT to the level that has led to this award. An official presentation is to follow.
