Become a Councillor at Daventry Town Council

Love your Community – Want to make a Difference – Become a Councillor

Have you ever looked at the Town you live in and thought who manages your Town, who decides what the people want in your Town?

Democracy, guided by legislation, decides the shape and future of your Town and anyone can be a part of that decision making process by submitting ideas or critical viewpoints to their local council representatives or by becoming a Councillor. This is a voluntary and unpaid position.

So, take a moment to reflect on your passion and enthusiasm to represent your community and take the opportunity to highlight their needs to shape their town.

Become a councillor and make a difference.

Daventry Town Council will be holding its elections on 3rd May 2018. You don't need any special qualifications to be a local Councillor (although there is a qualifying criteria) but you do need to able to commit to a few hours every month - whether it's attending Council meetings, reading Council papers on community matters or catching up with local residents.

So don't sit around moaning about decisions made by other people, be interested, get involved, and see what a difference you can make for the Town and its communities.
