Daventry Mayor volunteers with Street Pastors

On Saturday 24th March 2018, Daventry Town Council Mayor and Chair of Council, Lynne Taylor, attended a street patrol in the town centre, along with the Daventry Street Pastors.

Joining as an observer on a regular weekend patrol, Mayor Lynne Taylor, said of the evening, "Having attended at the 2007 inaugural meeting to promote the idea of a street pastor team in the town, it was great to be given the opportunity to witness first hand what this local group does for our community on a regular basis.

Interacting with those enjoying the facilities that Daventry town centre has to offer, and collecting and safely disposing of dangerous materials, such as smashed glass, is a wonderful way to ensure that everyone has a fun, but safe evening.

Brian Thomas, one of the leading organisers for Daventry Street Pastors said, "We very much appreciated the help that Mayor Lynne Taylor provided on the evening. The recent grant that was given to the DSP by Daventry Town Council will ensure that we can fund recruitment and training of new street pastors to enable the continuation of our community work into the future."
