Daventry Town welcomes a new Mayor

Following Daventry Town Council's Annual General Meeting on Monday 14th May 2018, Cllr Lynn Jones was appointed to the position of Mayor of Daventry for the council year 2018/2019. Cllr Lynn Jones has been a Councillor for Daventry Town since 2013 and currently represents Drayton Ward.

Of her new appointment, Cllr Jones said, "I am incredibly pleased and excited to have been elected as the new Daventry Mayor. Having spent the past year as the Deputy Mayor, I am aware of the responsibilities that come with the role and I look forward to rising to the challenge."

Cllr Mike Arnold joins Cllr Jones as the Deputy Mayor.

The outgoing Mayor, Cllr Lynne Taylor, said, "My year spent as Mayor of Daventry has been simply wonderful. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many talented and hard-working groups and individuals who give their time and resources so freely to Daventry Town. My congratulations go to Cllr Lynn Jones who will take on the role, I have every confidence that she will be a guiding figurehead."

Cllr Taylor's chosen charity for her inaugural year was Reach for Health, who she actively supported by attending fundraising events and personally raised over £1200.

The Mayor attends community events free of charge. If you would like the Mayor to attend one of your events, a Mayoral Engagement Form is available to download from www.daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk or contact the office on 01327 301246.
