Food Festival returns to Daventry Town

Food Festival returns to Daventry Town

On Saturday 22nd September 2018, Daventry town centre will be filled with the delicious aroma of over 30 food and drink vendors offering a delectable range of local, national and international home-baked and locally sourced food and drink.

Daventry Food Festival will be located in Daventry town's historic High Street and beautifully preserved Sheaf Street from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 22nd September 2018.

Gourmands will be able to choose between delicious sweet treats from Creative Fudge; Jumbo Hotdogs from Farmer Lou's locally sourced and hand-reared pigs; 100% vegan goodies and toasties from Lecker; classic Mediterranean and Turkish delights from award-winning local restaurant Mosaic Grill; home-cooked traditional Jamaican dishes from Wah Gwaan; as well as home-made cakes and bakes from Baked with Love.

Visitors to Daventry Food Festival can opt to drink from Bubbles (Hello, Prosecco's wonderfully named Prosecco van) who will be serving a range of frizzante, prosecco and peroni. Local multi award-winning micro-pub, Early Doors, will also be opening its doors and selling an array of locally sourced craft ales, gin and cider for the festival. There will also be a plethora of beers, vodkas and ciders from various vendors on the day.

In addition to the marvellous food and drink on offer to tantalise your taste buds, there will also be live demos from various exhibitors on the Demonstration Stage, which will be located on the High Street, including an exclusive demo from the UK's first medicinal chef, Dale Pinnock, who will be discussing the medicinal properties of food and wowing the crowd with his amazing culinary skills.

Cllr Lynn Jones, Mayor of Daventry and Chair of Daventry Town Council, said:

"Daventry Food Festival is a fantastic opportunity for members of the community to come together and celebrate a love of cuisine whilst supporting local traders and vendors. Last year's Food Festival was the first of its kind for the town and was a phenomenal success. This year's event is set to be bigger and better than before with something for everyone to enjoy."
