NEWS: Daventry town residents asked to comment on the Proposed Submission Local Plan Part 2 by DDC

Daventry Town residents are being offered the opportunity to comment on the Proposed Submission Local Plan Part 2 from 13th August to 5th October 2018.

Once adopted, it will set out where new homes could go to meet future housing need, as well as the best locations for new businesses, to create employment opportunities. It will help determine which areas should be protected from development and contains policies to protect the District's distinctive landscapes, biodiversity and history, as well as its leisure facilities and green spaces.

It will also provide an update on the needs of Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople, setting out the number of plots and pitches required over the next 12 years to meet the standards set by Government.

Further details about the Local Plan, the consultation and the supporting evidence can be found on the District Council's website: www.daventrydc.gov.uk/localplan. Hard copies of the document are available for inspection at the Council offices at Lodge Road and the District's libraries.

The District Council is also holding a staffed exhibition at Daventry library on Wednesday 5th September 2018 from 9.30am – 6pm, for people wishing to find out more about the Local Plan.

All representations should be received by the District Council by 4.30pm on the 5th October 2018. Responses received after this time will not be accepted.

If you have any further questions about either the Local Plan of the consultation process, you can contact the Local Strategy Team directly, either via email to planningpolicy@daventrydc.gov.uk or via telephone to 01327 302 554.
