Lantern Parade to return to Daventry Town

On Saturday 8th December 2018, as part of Daventry's Winter Fayre, the annual Lantern Parade will return to Daventry town centre.

Starting from Santa's Grotto at 4pm, the parade will commence its route down Sheaf Street, along the High Street, across Market Square led by Liberty Drum Corps, where it will finish in time for a Family Christmas Carol Service, which will be accompanied by Daventry Brass Band and Duke's Ukes Ukulele Band, at the Holy Cross Church.

Lantern Making Workshops are being held on 24th and 25th November 2018 and bookings can be made via the DTC website. Alternatively, groups, clubs, societies and schools, can request lantern making materials from Daventry Town Council direct.

Daventry Mayor, Cllr Lynn Jones, said, "The Lantern Parade is an incredibly magical experience, and finishing with a Carol Service in the Holy Cross Church is a perfect way to end the Daventry Winter Fayre – the first of its kind in Daventry."

Daventry Town Council wishes to thank Dennetts Garden Centre for donating materials to support this event.

If you would like to make your own lantern, details can be found on the DTC website:
