Daventry’s First Classic Car Show a roaring success

Fun was had by all on Saturday 13th April 2019 at Daventry's first Classic Car Show. A free, community event organised by Daventry Town Council, supported and assisted by Daventry Mayor, Cllr Lynn Jones, to raise funds for the Mayor's chosen charities.

The event was attended by over 100 classic cars, as well as 25 traders selling a variety of food, drink and crafts. The range of cars included a 1965 Jaguar E-Type, a Chevrolet Corvette, a variety of Morris Minor's and an Austin Metropolitan.

Cllr Lynn Jones said of the event, "It was a wonderful day, with a fantastic turnout of both car exhibitors and the public. The live entertainment from Daventry Brass Band, Daventry Ukulele Orchestra, Starlight Dance Academy and George Holmes really did make the event swing.

The feedback from everyone has been phenomenal, which really goes to show the level of community spirit that Daventry possesses. This was definitely the perfect way to end my Mayoral year."

The event has raised over £400 for the Mayor's chosen charities, which are Daventry Street Pastors, Daventry Contacts and the Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS).
