Letter From Daventry Mayor Mike Arnold: Week 4
This is my fourth message, as much as I wish that I wasn't writing in the circumstances, it is good that I can nonetheless.
With lockdown being extended last week, it's great to see how adaptable we have become to our new living restraints in a short space of time. Plus the lock down means that we have all contributed to freeing up vital NHS resources and reducing the spread of the virus. Which in turn means that lives have been saved - what a motivator to keep going!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Council. They have done a great job keeping Council services available during this time. All whilst tackling the continuing challenge of the reorganisation of Northamptonshire Councils. It's worth reminding everyone that you can now access Council meetings online, something new to do with your time! Please see Daventry Town Council website for more details.
As for me, a good thing to come out of quarantine life is more regular contact with my family. Including, as some of you will be aware, family I didn't know I had until recently!
We also have a bit more of a daily routine now; gardening, dog walking, exercise and then time spent on my new pastime of online shopping.
Whilst on our dogs walks, I am able to see this year has been good for this seasons forget-me-nots and bluebell flowers. The pictures are taken of ones I spotted on the sides of the paths along Southbrook. Lovely to see them in bloom and brighten up walks.
Have another happy and healthy week everyone and I'll be here again next week.
