VE Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations

VE Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations

The bunting is up, the flags are flying and we are told the UK is passing through the peak of this pandemic.

So, if we keep washing our hands, stay at home (whenever possible), and keep our distance, there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's a small sacrifice to make, especially when we remember the sacrifices made in WWII and the joy everyone felt when peace was declared and people could rebuild their lives.

To remember Victory in Europe 75 years ago, Daventry Museum has delved into its Archives and created a montage of images as #DaventryRemembers accompanied by music recorded and arranged by local musicians.

We're also asking our residents to get involved by decorating their houses, dressing up in their finest vintage gear, and organising an afternoon tea to celebrate together. You can find more information about this on our VE Celebrations page HERE.
