A Welcome Return for Daventry Farmers Market!
Daventry Farmers Market was back on Saturday 18th September 2021 and was even bigger and better than its successful debut last year.
The market which is funded and organised by Daventry Town Council, hosted an array of artisan food related stalls, all selling culinary related products and produce. This family friendly and free market boasted many local and regional traders selling a wide range of items.
It was fantastic to see Daventry High Street awash with colourful stalls and wonderful cooking smells, as traders sold everything from breads and sweet treats, cheeses and chutneys, to smoked fish, pies, meats, hot takeaway foods, ciders, gins and much more in-between.
With the sun shining and whilst in Daventry on the day many customers also visited some of the town's cafes, restaurants, pubs and amazing independent shops. Several retailers reported higher takings on the day due to the increased footfall, which is great to hear.
Daventry Mayor Cllr. Karen Tweedale came along to the market and commented:
"It was amazing to see Daventry buzzing once again as this community event attracted many families and visitors from further afield to our lovely town. Along with the many returning stallholders it was a pleasure to welcome many new traders, and what a treat to have such a wide selection of products on our doorstep for the day. A big thank you to the dedicated team of officers at Daventry Town Council who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event run so successful."
The feedback from both traders and visitors was extremely positive which is great news as we are busy finalising details for our next seasonal market, which will be Christmas themed and held on Saturday 27th November 2021.
Daventry Town Council would like to thank visitors, stallholders and local businesses for helping support the Market and also to all those who helped ensured its smooth running.
