This week Daventry Mayor, Cllr Karen Tweedale, welcomed Civic Dignitaries from across the county, to her Civic Service. The service was held at Holy Cross Church, Daventry and a chance to celebrate her year in office and to promote her varied fundraising work for her chosen charity; Muscular Dystrophy UK.

The charity is a cause close to Karen's heart as they were integral in helping her dear friend Holly Gouldingay, who at 7 years old was diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy. Holly was in attendance at the Civil Ceremony and spoke passionately about how the charity has supported her over the years.

Hosted by Daventry Town Council, the service was led by representatives from Daventry Churches Together and featured a beautiful solo singing performance from local school pupil Natalia. Afterwards delicious refreshments, courtesy of Courtyard Café, were enjoyed at the Reach for Health premises.

Daventry Mayor, Cllr Karen Tweedale would like to express her thanks and gratitude to Holy Cross Church for the lovely service, Reach for Health for use of their facilities, Courtyard Café for the catering and Natalia and Holly who all helped to make the day a great success.
