Last Chance To Enter Daventry Time Capsule Competition

Last Chance To Enter Daventry Time Capsule Competition

What will Daventry and your community look like in 100 years' time? Enter our Time Capsule competition and be a part of Daventry's future history!

There is still time for local children to enter this once in a lifetime competition and event, hosted by Daventry Town Council, Daventry Museum and Orbit Homes, which celebrates Daventry's past, present and future by burying a Time Capsule at the new Micklewell Park, Daventry, housing development.

The competition is open to children in Reception to Year 6 and runs until Saturday 28th May 2022.

Entry is free and asks participants to either draw or write a newspaper report or a poem, to showcase their ideas of items they'd like to see put into the capsule.

Entry forms can be collected from Daventry Museum and Daventry Town Council Offices; 3 New Street, Daventry, NN11 4BT or downloaded via the Daventry Museum webpage linked below.

Three winners will be selected from the submissions in June 2022 and the first prize winner will accompany a member of Orbit Home's site team to bury the time capsule at Micklewell Park, on Saturday 6th August 2022. All three winners will print their hands in the slab above the capsule's location and receive a goody bag full of unique prizes.

In August 2022, Daventry Museum will display the various entries, plus Micklewell Park construction site plans, archaeological reports and diagrams for any visitors to view. More details and updates of which to follow nearer the time.

Don't miss out on entering this historic competition and to leave your handprint on the town for future generations to discover!
