Buzzing Bumble Bee Activity Day
Daventry Town Council invites you to join us and our friends at Rivendell Bees for a FREE children's crafts and activities session in honour of 'Bees Needs Week 2022'.
Bees Needs Week is an annual week set up by the UK Gov. Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs, to raise awareness of bees and other pollinators.
Our free event on Saturday 16 July 2022, will be hosted at the Reflection Garden in New Street Park, Daventry, and the buzzy activities will include making a Bee Home, Bee Cone and decorating a Bee Stone - all for you to keep!
Chris from Rivendell Bees will be leading the activities as well as teaching participants on how best to help save the Bees. Chris remarked: "Many of our native bee species have been declining in numbers for several years, yet humans rely on bees and other insects to pollinate a third of our own food. I'm thrilled that Daventry is celebrating Bees Needs Week, to help highlight how we can all do something to help bees and bugs return to our gardens, allotments and open spaces, and in turn thrive in the future."
Come and join us in the town on Saturday 16 July to see how easy it is to become a Bee Champion!
This event is open to everyone, although children will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. This a drop-in event and no booking is required, just come along on the day.
