Queen's Jubilee Tree Blanket Revealed

Queen's Jubilee Tree Blanket Revealed

Daventry Town Council was thrilled to welcome participants of The Jubilee Tree Blanket Project to view the finished blanket display reveal at Daventry Museum on Saturday 08 October 2022.

The Jubilee Tree Blanket has been a collaborative project between Daventry Museum and Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, which started in early 2022 as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee year celebrations.

Local crafters were invited to get involved in the historic project creating a unique knitted blanket adorned with crochet flowers and a canopy. The finished blanket is a combined effort of the crafting community who helped to knit squares to form the beautiful tree design.

The blanket now has further significance since the sad passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, and hopefully is a fitting tribute our heartfelt respect for her Majesty's life and service to our nation.

The blanket will be on display at Daventry Museum from Tuesday 11th October until Saturday 5th November.
