Daventry Christmas Tree Yarn Trail Coming Soon

Get in the Christmas mood and have a go at our FREE Christmas Tree Yarn Trail.

The trail is part of the Daventry Christmas Tree Yarn Project, a collaborative project between Daventry Town Council and local craft enthusiast Julie Walker, that invited residents to crochet and knit hundreds of 15cm x 15cm squares. The finished squares were then sewn together and made into various sized Christmas trees, that are now on display throughout Daventry town centre and form the trail.

The themed trail is a fun activity for both the young and young at heart to enjoy doing whilst in Daventry shopping. Participants just require a trail sheet to help find the yarn trees and their special baubles dotted around town in various business and shop windows, jotting down what is in the baubles as they are found.

The trail sheets will be available to download on the Daventry Town Council's website from Saturday 26th November, or just pop into any participating shop or business to collect one during their opening hours.* Please note the trees will be visible from outside of all the participating shops and businesses, regardless of them being open or not, so you can enjoy the trail at a time that suits you.

Additionally, visitors attending the upcoming Daventry Christmas Market (Saturday 26 November between 10am – 3pm) can pick up a trail sheet from the Daventry Town Council stall on the High Street, and find the trees whilst enjoying the festive event. The Daventry Christmas Tree Yarn Project team have also created a LARGE tree which will be on display at the High Street entrance of North Street from Saturday 26th November.

Post-Christmas the beautifully crocheted and knitted squares will then be laundered and turned into blankets and scarves for various local charities.
