Festive Cheer at Daventry Christmas Market
Daventry Town Council was thrilled to host its ever-popular Christmas Market & Festive Fun Event on Saturday 26th November and help kick start Christmas shopping in the town.
The outdoor event attracted a record number of traders to Daventry - with crowds to match. More than 80+ stalls attended, offering a feast of food and drink and great gift ideas for seasonal shoppers.
This year's seasonal market was the biggest yet, with stalls all the way around the town and many local retailers joining in the fun too. This created a stunning mega-market for residents and visitors to enjoy.
There was also an array of extra attractions for families to enjoy including meeting Santa's real reindeer, a Snow Globe experience (complete with eco-friendly 'snow'!), festive face painting, carol singing, festive steel drum playing, children's crafts, a Christmas Tree Trail and even a stilt walking Rudolf the red nose reindeer!
Father Christmas was in attendance as facilitated and chaperoned by Danetre Daventry Rotary Club, and children delighted in meeting him as he waved from his sleigh.
The market was a roaring success, and the town was alive with the hustle and bustle of shoppers and families enjoying a day out.
Daventry Mayor, Cllr. Malcolm Ogle was in attendance and remarked:
"It was great for the Christmas Market to be back, after last years' event was sadly cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. The market really showcased the town and many wonderful independent shops and retailers we have locally. The atmosphere was brilliant, and the town was full to the brim as shoppers got in the festive mood. It was great to join in with the choir singing Christmas songs and think everyone left feeling very Christmassy!"
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Christmas Market and helped support the event. We can't wait to host more seasonal markets next year. Further information and updates to follow soon.
Planning is starting early in the New Year for Daventry Town Council's next specialist market event, with full information and updates to follow. If you have an experience of the market you'd like to share, or any suggestions for improvements, please email: email@example.com
