Classic Northants Bus Tours Returning To Daventry!

Once again, our friends at Northampton Transport Heritage will return to Daventry with their classic buses and offer FREE bus tours of old town routes to celebrate this year's National Heritage Open Days.

Heritage Open Days 2023 runs from Friday 8th to Sunday 17th September, and each year the festival has grown and further developed, including Daventry's plans.

After the success of last year's event, Daventry Town Council are delighted to welcome back Northampton Transport Heritage and their heritage buses to town to recreate Local United Counties & Midland Red Bus Routes. Residents are invited to ride the various routes for FREE!

WHEN: Saturday 16th September 2023

TIME: 10am – 3pm

WHERE: Market Square, Daventry

ENTRY: FREE bus rides.

There is an optional purchase of a programme and timetable, which will be available from Market Square for a small fee. Funds will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the heritage buses. However, purchasing a programme is NOT conditional to riding on the bus service, nor does it give any priority to travel.

Buses will leave between 10am and 3pm throughout the day, and a timetable will be released closer to the event date.

Classic routes will include travel in and around Ashby St Ledgers, Badby, Braunston, Northampton, Norton, Staverton, Weedon and Welton. Passengers are welcome to enjoy as many routes as they wish and experience the magic of the beautiful vehicles.

The bus tours coincide with Daventry Foodies Market 2023 and Daventry Museum's Heritage Open Days Celebrations inspired by this year's theme: "Creativity Unwrapped".

Daventry Mayor, Cllr Ted Nicholl, will be attending all the events taking place on the day and commented:
