Sad Farewell from the Chief Officer

After 17 remarkable years Daventry Town Council's Chief Officer, Deborah Jewell, will step down from her role at the end of February 2025.

Her leadership, through years of change and challenge, has transformed Daventry Town Council, bringing enthusiasm, expertise & unforgettable community events.

Daventry Town Mayor, Cllr. Karen Tweedale commented on the departure:

"I would like to bid a fond farewell to our Chief Officer, Deborah Jewell, who has dedicated 17 years of exceptional service to our town. Deborah leaves behind a remarkable legacy, Thank you Deborah!"

Whilst her departure is a significant loss to the Town Council, it is to her credit that the council is in such a strong and optimistic place, with another exciting programme of events underway, and a committed group of colleagues focused on excellence.

She'll be greatly missed, but her unwavering commitment to the town leaves us in great shape for the future. Here's to exciting new beginnings for Deborah!

"Goodbyes aren't easy. It's a strange feeling. A feeling of leaving behind everything you have built on over many years, projects, friends, happy times. But the time has come for me to move on and after 17 years I liken it to Dr Who, the old one fades away and a new one morphs into being, bringing new style and new ambitions.

In my time as Chief Officer of Daventry Town Council, I can honestly say it has been an honour and pleasure. Since joining the Town Council in 2008, I have played a big part in shaping its services to meet the needs of the community and I feel I am leaving Daventry Town Council in a good place, and I know it will continue to grow and provide excellent services for the community, into the future.

I will now forge a different path through life, but the memories and bonds that I have in this town will always hold a special place in my heart."
