What is the Annual Town Assembly?

The Annual Town Assembly or Annual Parish Meeting is a legacy from the Middle Ages. Before local councils existed, all decision making was carried out by meetings of the whole community. Today, the Annual Town Assembly gives electors in the Town the opportunity to discuss anything they consider important to local people. The agenda is informed by matters raised by electors present at the meeting.
