Daventry Pride Party in the Park returned to New Street Park on Saturday 5th July 2025 for its third consecutive year – and once again, the event proved to be a vibrant and joyful celebration of the LGBTQ+ community across Daventry and the surrounding areas.

The free collaborative family-friendly event welcomed hundreds of visitors throughout the day, showcasing the town's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. The park was filled with colour, music, laughter, and unity as people of all ages came together to celebrate love and community spirit.

The main stage featured a fantastic line-up of musical acts and performers, including:

  • Resident favourite DJ Darren
  • Fabulous Drag Artist Miss Cara-Mel Latte
  • Soulful live music from Afreine and her full band
  • An acoustic set from singer-songwriter Stew Simpson

There was also a wide range of free family entertainment on offer throughout the park, including themed crafts, face painting, temporary tattoos, and circus skills. One of the surprise highlights was a spectacular flash mob performance by Syndicate Dance, involving dancers and confetti cannons – much to the delight of the crowd.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere were market stalls, hot food vendors, and sweet treat sellers, along with a bouncy castle for younger visitors.

This year also saw the launch of the event's very first Mini Pride March. Attendees paraded proudly around the park, setting the tone for a day of celebration and inclusion.

The event provided a great opportunity to engage with local services and support groups. Representatives from Teen Clinic Daventry, Northamptonshire Mind, QSpace, The Lowdown, Northants Lesbian Society, and Daventry Police and Fire Services were on hand to offer information, support, and friendly conversations.

QSpace also hosted a dedicated Chill-Out Zone – a peaceful space where attendees could relax and recharge if needed.

Daventry Mayor, Councillor Katie Thurston, joined in the celebrations and shared her thoughts on the day:

"It was an honour to attend this year's Daventry Pride Party in the Park. It was fantastic fun and enjoyed by families and visitors of all ages – I even joined in with face painting!

I was especially pleased to meet the various organisations doing such vital work in our community. It's brilliant that Daventry can host such a welcoming and inclusive celebration, and that our wonderful local businesses also embraced the day with pride-themed window displays and offers."

Daventry Town Council would like to express its sincere thanks to all the collaborative partners who helped make the event such a success, including:

A special thank you to Juice Sound Ltd for their technical expertise and support throughout the day.

We are proud to have once again brought the community together to celebrate Pride and look forward to making next year's event even bigger and better!
