Notice of Election - Daventry South East Ward

Daventry Town Council is looking for a new Town Councillor to represent the Daventry South East Ward in the upcoming election.

Your voice matters in shaping the future of our community! A vacancy has arisen for one councillor, and assuming more that one candidate stands, the election will take place on Thursday, 12th February 2026.

Could you be a Councillor?

Do you fancy starting the new year in a new role and making a positive difference in your town?

• Have the ability to think, listen and act locally?

As a Town Councillor, you will bring fresh enthusiasm and new ideas to the Council, along with a genuine care for your community and a willingness to learn.

What you'll need:

🕒 TIME
Generally speaking, you can manage the time you spend by adjusting your level of commitment to suit the needs of the town and your aims for the community. Meetings are mainly held at Daventry Town Council offices on Mondays at 6:30pm. It's important to ensure meeting schedules fit around your personal and/or business commitments.

🤝 CHARACTER
You should be committed, collaborative, analytical, patient, practical, and have a positive, can-do attitude.

💷 EXPENDITURE
The role of Town Councillor is unpaid; however, any authorised expenditure incurred while carrying out duties on behalf of the Council will be reimbursed.

How to Apply.

Applications must be submitted by hand to the Returning Officer at West Northamptonshire Council, One Angel Square, Angel Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire by Friday, 16th January 2026 at 4pm.
