In recognition of the importance of play to children and young people, as of Saturday 4th July, Daventry Town Council will be re-opening all the play areas in the Town.

Daventry Town Council manages 40 play areas and each play area is inspected weekly by a dedicated play area inspector who makes sure that the area and equipment is safe, secure, and well-maintained, but it will not be cleaned or sanitised.... Read More »

Public open spaces in Daventry have been transferred to Daventry Town Council as preparations to reorganise local government in Northamptonshire continue.

The transfer includes the New Street Recreation Ground and other public open space across the town, but excludes Daventry Country Park and Borough Hill.

On that morning in 1645, parliament's Newly Modelled Army destroyed King Charles I's army at Naseby, the decisive battle of the first English Civil War. Only nights before this, King Charles stayed at Daventry's Wheatsheaf Inn and his Royalist forces used Borough Hill as a base before marching to fight at Naseby.

Following Government guidelines Daventry Town Market was temporarily closed due to Government Covid19 regulations, which were lifted as of the 1st June 2020.
