Free Summer Activity Days!
Once again we want to make this Summer one to remember with an exciting schedule of activities that are all FREE to attend. Different sessions are aimed at 3 years and over through to teens - there's a super fun workshop or coaching session to suit everyone, all outdoor sessions are taking place at New Street Park, in the centre of town.
Make some memories and enjoy the town's central green and leafy park during forest school sessions. Have fun and get active whilst you learn or improve on your skateboarding skills. Become an entertainer for the day with our balance and circus skills coaching. Improve on your football skills with a kick-about, enjoy some games in the park or get your craft on in our museum.
The sessions are all FREE, drop-in (except the craft session on 31 July) and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, with reserve lists being taken on the day for follow-on sessions.
Parents and carers must accompany their children and stay for the duration of all sessions, except Park Hub run by CYPN. For this we request parents/carers complete a registration form prior to the sessions. Details can be found below.
Summer Paper Craft Workshops
**FULLY BOOKED. WAITING LIST IN OPERATION**
Come and join Martine from Snips and Pieces create your very own summer inspired paper collage! Snips and Pieces run lots of crafty workshops throughout Northamptonshire and this summer they'll be at Daventry Museum for two super summer themed paper craft workshops!!
Get your brain into 'summer gear' and create some cute ice lolly pics that look good enough to eat or maybe you're dreaming about getting into your paddling pool soon?! Using scissors, glue and hand coloured paper, we will work together to snip and layer shapes in order to make your piece! The finished result will look so good, you'll want to hang it with pride!
Who to book a place for;
- These workshops are for ages 4 and above, the subject and techniques lend themselves to ages 4 to 104!
- Please book a place for you and your child if they are aged 7 and under.
- For those independent young people aged 8 and over, just book a place for the young person and although grown-ups must stay for the duration of the session, you are free to potter the museum exhibition and have a cup of tea or coffee.

Forest School Fun with Nature Noodles
Forest school sessions with Nature Noodles are a fun and educational for children and their grown-ups! Come along and spend time in amongst the trees and earn about wildlife and environment appreciation. The sessions will creatively and gently explore nature. Activities include clay faces, bug hunt, hapa zome (leaf bashing), willow and elder jewellery making, web making, natural art, wand making, stories clay, mini-dens for toys and mindfulness.
Forest School sessions are FREE to attend and will be 30 minute drop-in sessions run on a first come, first serve basis, with reserve lists being made for the next session when one is full.
What: Forest School sessions for 3 years and upwards, all welcome! Children must be accompanied by their grown-up/s.

Skateboard Skills Coaching
Team Rubicon are the UK's leading provider of skateboard coaching. They'll be in Daventry Town Centre again this year after the success of their 2022 sessions. Two coaching days will be dedicated to skateboarding for beginners and improvers to hone their skills! Come along and see what you can do. Expert coaches will give young people tonnes of confidence and skills on a skateboard whether they've tried it before or not! All equipment will be provided, but if you have you're own board or helmet and pads, bring them along.
Mornings are for ages 8 and under and the afternoons for 9 and overs. Sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a reserve list being made for the next session when one is full.

Circus & Balance Skills Workshops
The Joker Entertainment have delighted audiences in Daventry many times and this time it's your turn to have a staring role in the circus act! Join expert tutors who will demonstrate, encourage and guide young people aged 4-13 years through an array of circus and balance skill activities. Set in New Street Park, in the centre of Daventry town, these FREE workshops will be a huge amount of fun! No experience, red noses or large clown shoes required!
What: Learn a range of circus and balance skills, from juggling to plate spinning, stilts and unicycling with expert tutors on hand to encourage and keep you safe. All equipment provided.

Park-Hub (like Youth Hub, but in the park!)
Run by the same team as our brilliant Youth Hub on a Friday evening, Park-Hub will be 2 hours of fun games and activities with no expectations and no particular skills needed, just be yourself. For ages 10 to 17, this will be a safe and fun place in the town this summer. Bring your friends, enjoy the warm weather and the fresh green outdoors at New Street Park in the centre of town.
What: Park-Hub sessions for young people aged 10 to 17 years. Parents will not be required to attend (see registration link below).

Time: 10am-12pm each day, these sessions will be 2 hour drop in sessions, run on a first-come, first-serve basis.

These are free sessions run by CYPN, the same team who run Daventry's Youth Hub at Southbrook Community Centre every term time Friday.

Football for All, Coaching & Kick-About
Fancy playing some football in the park with mates? Perhaps you want to get better, or you want to show off your skills? Perhaps you've never played before but really want to try. Come along to Football for All, for coaching and a kick-about, nothing formal, just fun with footballs in the park. All equipment provided.
What: Football for All. These sessions are FREE drop-in's, run on a first-come, first-serve basis. For age range 5-11 years.

Makes in the Museum Workshops!
Come along to the museum and enjoy making paper and yarn jellyfish, suns, pom-poms and more!
Be part of Daventry Museum's new Made in Daventry exhibition as you become crafty makers! This is a FREE drop-in workshop (no booking necessary) the amount of help your little ones will need is down to you but all ages are very welcome! All children MUST be accompanied by their adult at all times.
Enjoy some relaxed crafting, a super new museum exhibition, quizzes, activities and quality family time!
